Disney Friends for Change Grants offer young change-makers an opportunity to receive a $1,000 grant to help make a lasting, positive change in the world. Whether you are passionate about protecting the planet, providing meals to those who need it or giving kids just like you the resources they need to star in their own play, be an athlete or an artist, you can be a Friend for Change! Whatever your interests, a Disney Friends for Change Grant can help you make a difference for people, communities and the planet. Youth ages 5-18

Arts & Media! The National Endowment for the Arts funds Arts in Media projects that develop and produce media projects about the arts (such as visual arts, music, dance, literature, design, theater, musical theater, opera) for traditional media as well as for the Internet, mobile technologies, digital games and via satellite. Grant range: $10,000 - $200,000. Deadline: September 1, 2011.

American Express Philanthropy makes grants in three major program areas: Cultural Heritage, Leadership and Community Service. It includes the American Express Foundation and certain corporate gifts.

Build-A-Bear Workshop® believes in the teddy bear philosophy of being good people and good bears. In living those values, we provide grants through the Build-A-Bear Workshop Foundation and the Build-A-Bear Workshop Bear Hugs Foundation to 501(c)(3) public charities or registered Canadian charities that support beary special causes, such as children’s health and wellness, animals, and literacy and education.

Do Something provides several scholarships, grants and awards.

Don’t just stand there! Do Something has teamed up with American Express to offer grants supporting youth-led community service projects commemorating emergency responders, military troops and the tenth anniversary of the 9/11 tragedy. Grant range: $500 - $1,000

Neighborly support! State Farm and Youth Service America offer Good Neighbor Service-Learning Grants promoting service-learning projects in K-12 public schools. Projects must promote student learning, workplace readiness and stronger communities. Grant range: $1,000

Un-singing their praises! The ING Unsung Heroes Awards recognize K-12 educators for innovative teaching methods and creative educational projects. Award range: $2,000 - $25,000

Fighting hunger! The Sodexo Foundation funds the Stephen J. Brady STOP Hunger Scholarship program honoring students who are raising awareness and mobilizing youth in the fight against hunger. Students can win a scholarship AND a grant to the hunger-fighting charity of their choice. Grant range: $1,000 - $5,000
