You must agree that you are an authorized representative of the organization listed below. By completing this application you will be able to verify students' volunteer hours and update your non-profit profile and volunteer opportunities. If you would like to be able to participate on the communication walls with students around the topic of your cause or post videos about your work you will need to complete an online Background Check. If you have one on file with your organization, you can email a copy to info@inspired2impact.org.

To be a great place to volunteer you must follow and agree to the following:

  1. Be prepared – Have all the "tools" ready when they arrive. Don’t make your volunteer stand around.
  2. Make them feel welcome – Introduce yourself and your staff to them, give the volunteer a quick tour and/or overview of your mission and programs. Have water available. Share an exciting success story from the work your non-profit does.
  3. Set clear and attainable goals for their time – Be honest about what you really need the volunteer to do when posting your opportunities. Don’t surprise them when they arrive. Make yourself available should they have questions or concerns.
  4. Train your volunteers – This might be the first experience this student has with your non-profit and your mission. They sought you out and want to contribute their time to your organization. Students will also be asked to answer survey questions about their experience that will post as a rating on your non-profit’s profile and will assist other students in selecting which organizations they want to serve.
  5. Give them a purpose – Make sure they know how valuable their time and effort is to the fulfillment of the mission.
  6. Make sure they know the rules – Students will be eager to help, and while they are not actual employees, they may still need to adhere to general organizational policies. Make sure they understand these before they get started.
  7. Set time parameters for service – Make sure you have a general idea of the time it will take for a volunteer to do the job and break it up into several days, weeks, etc. if necessary. If you have an on-going project make sure that you post an estimated time frame for completion.
  8. Show appreciation – Thank your volunteers on a job well done. You will have the opportunity to write recommendations on the students Profiles. These Profiles will serve as an online service resume as they apply for scholarships, college entrance and jobs, so if students go above and beyond, do the same and post a recommendation.
