Tyler Strasser
Tyler's Mission is the accumulation of the hopes and dreams of Tyler Strasser. At age three, Tyler's mom discovered a gym bag of new toys he had bought with his allowance and had never opened. When asked what they were for, Tyler answered, "They're for the children", and Tyler's Mission was born. In 1999, (the first year of his mission), Tyler provided gifts during Christmas time to about 56-58 children. This past holiday season, his mission supported over ten thousand families with an average of five children per household! At first the toys were distributed to children with special needs, Boys and Girls Clubs, AIDS, and the developmental/mentally challenged. He has added children whose military parent(s) are serving overseas, American soldiers serving overseas, underprivileged children, Foster children, battered women and children shelters, homeless shelters, orphaned children in Jamaica, retired veterans, and senior citizens to his list of causes. A few years back, after hearing that some of the children he supports didn't have any food to eat, Tyler knew he had help them. He went around to local grocers and asked if they could help him feed the hungry children and families throughout the community. That is how "Breaking The Bread" ministry was brought to life. It feeds an average of 15,000 people per month. Tyler and his volunteers processed and filled over 150,000 Easter baskets to be distributed to children, nursing homes and individuals during last year's Easter celebrations. His clothing ministry collects and distributes clothing for shelters, churches, organizations and individuals. Tyler's Mission is a registered 501(c) (3) public charity. Tyler's mission grew out of his desire to share God's love. He has chosen to adopt those in need as "his children" as well in hopes to fulfill the purpose God has given him to provide for "his children" in their hour of need.
